This is one of the posts I wrote out for a role play I was participating in. Sadly, the role play died, but I loved this character. So here is a little taste of how I write. I hope you like it!
- Oh goodness... Dahlia awoke to the soft shrilling of her alarm clock, announcing her late to yet another meeting with best friend. The guy was probably hanging around outside the cafe right now, a double chocolate chunk muffin in his hand, waiting for her return. Jesus Christ. Adam stuck his head inside her door, knocking softly. "I would have woke you, darling, but you looked so incredibly peaceful." The smirk her room mate wore on his face spoke otherwise. He disliked her best friend, seeing as though she had been in an off and on relationship with the dick wad for nearly all her life. He always ended the relationship, went to go fuck some easy girl, and then came running back to her. She had to admit, she really could do better than him, but it was just too much effort to broadcast herself as single, only to have to explain her still relevant feelings for an asshole that wanted nothing than to get in her pants. He knew her, though. The only other person that knew her that well was Adam, and he was gay.
Speaking of, Adam was currently looking over her body with an interest that would have made her flinch away if it hadn't been for his obvious distaste in dating women. Adam was a model, self-made, and his penetrating gaze was focused on the ridiculously childish feetie pjs she wore, the ones with the little stars and moons on them. He clicked his tongue, shaking his head before go to her dresser, rummaging through her clothes. "No wonder you don't have a decent boy friend. I wouldn't date you either." As he tossed a pair of leggings, and thin floral skirt with a roomy white blouse, she shot back an equally endearing comment. "Of course not, you are gay." Adam's soft hazel eye went to her face, and he smiled at her. "Careful now, throw around the g word too much and people may think you are homophobic, love." With that, he left her to change.
She was out the door and running before Adam even got a chance to say goodbye, her laptop bag tucked neatly under her arm. The cafe was nearly three blocks away. In Chicago traffic, even jogging like she was, she was likely to be stopped at at least one stop light. The odds were apparently in her favor however, and her beeline to the cafe took only 10 minutes. Dahlia anxiously entered, looking to her usual seat to find Jason seated directly across from the large lazy boy she normally sat in. After greeting the manager, a family friend, Dahlia moved to sit across from a very unhappy looking Adam. Face drawn, he looked at her in the way she knew all too well. His next words were so familiar, she could almost repeat word for word what he said. "Lia, I am so sorry. I shouldn't have ever left you baby doll. I really, really need you right now. Please, be mine." His lip trembled, furthering the act she wished she could escape. She knew what he was doing, what he wanted, but looking into those emerald eyes, she couldn't refuse...
"Give me some time to think.
He nodded and left, paying for her to have a coffee but saying he had to get to work. He thought he knew the answer already, Dahlia never said no. She felt herself sinking into the chair, sipping on her coffee before booting up her lap top and checking the forum she loved so dearly. This was a way for her to get away from the world, to talk with people with a like interests and show off her knowledge. She was a known member, a moderator even, however there were so many that that was hardly a title to celebrate. As she logged in, she was bombarded with private messages, all of which she answered cheerfully despite her mood. The, she scrolled down to the topic, personal debates. This was where people post their problems and others debated on the right decision. Dahlia knew she shouldn't post anything personal, but she couldn't help herself.
'hi guys, seal here. i have been currently going through a tough situation. you see, i have known this guy for nearly 10 years, we grew up with each other. we are constantly getting together and breaking up. i'd hate to hurt him, despite how many times he has hurt me. what should i do?' Dahlia sat back and sipped on her coffee, scrolling through the forum as she waited for some much needed advice. Of course, Adam was the first to respond, he was always online before a photo shoot. FierceandProud wrote: 'Pay some black dude to fuck him in the ass. That'll teach him to mess with my princess. Love you, sealers. c: Dahlia got a giggle out of that and responded with a simple, @fierce- you probably know more than I do, babes. c; She saw a forum about the art and degrees, seeing that Adam and some other guy she knew had been suspended before were getting into an argument. Dahlia had to admit, the guy had a point, and she replied to the topic. @fierce- stop being such a dickhead and actually listen to what he is saying. he has a point, babes. <3 Dahlia then moved to get another cup of coffee, deciding shed be spending most of her day here.
